NAUTI NITE RECAP!
On Friday, October 23rd, over 250 guests joined the WAVE Foundation for its fourth annual Nauti Nite Masquerade - just in time for Halloween. Guests rocked their best costumes or came as they were for an evening of entertainment, fun, and over 150 spectacular auction items.

Nauti Nite is a nautical adventure featuring fabulous cuisine, wine, bourbon, and beer tastings, exotic animal encounters, a fantastic silent auction and, of course, great company. Beyond the fun filled evening, Nauti Nite is about reminding each of us about the importance of conservation in order to help protect aquatic life. 

At this year’s Nauti Nite, VIP guests had the chance to watch the African penguins make a spectacular piece of art and a few lucky guests even got to direct the penguin's paint strokes with a laser. Honorary Captain, Brian Douglas of Q102, was on hand to direct the live auction featuring luxury items including the newly finished penguin work of art.

The evening culminated with the Empress Chili After Party in the Ballroom with prizes, dancing
and awesome live music by local favorites

Proceeds from Nauti Nite enables the WAVE Foundation to continue to support conservation initiatives on the local, national, and global levels. In partnership with seaturtle.org, the Shark Research Institute and SANCOBB, the WAVE Foundation provides vital funds for research and education aimed at protecting these animals.

In addition to our conservation initiatives, Nauti Nite proceeds support The Finstitute, WAVE’s youth education program at the Newport Aquarium. Guided by a philosophy of ‘conservation through education’ WAVE’s education programs are designed to excite, engage and educate students about the wonders of aquatic life and the importance of conservation. Nauti Nite also raises funds for our Friends of Finstitute Fund which aims to underwrite 6000 financially needy students this school year and provides summer camp scholarships.
